Share your stories of Inspiring Daughters with us!

We find inspiration not only from historical figures and national heroes who came before us, but also from our daughters who inspire us daily. Share how your daughters have inspired you and ways you strive to inspire them as they grow. Do you have stories of their achievements, resilience, or unique qualities that have impacted your life and happiness? What steps have you taken to help them learn to grow into strong, empowered women? Personal Development Exercises:

This week, we spotlight Mari Copeny, also known as "Little Miss Flint," a young American activist who has been a powerful advocate for clean water and children’s rights since she was eight years old. Growing up in Flint, Michigan, Mari brought national attention to the Flint water crisis by writing a letter to President Barack Obama, leading to his visit and increased awareness. Her fearless activism has highlighted the importance of environmental justice and access to clean water.

Beyond the water crisis, Mari has organized fundraisers to provide clean water and educational resources to children in affected communities. With the support of her family, she balances her activism with her education and personal life. Her dedication and bravery make her an inspiring daughter and a prominent figure in the fight for environmental and social justice.

Our exercises, adapted from our "Women Rising Strong 2024 Workbook," include a thought-provoking writing prompt and reflection questions. Why not try to do these exercises with your daughter and explore the lessons, accomplishments, and characteristics that make contemporary young women such as Mari inspiring?
